01 / Why this, here

Work happens in the field. Paperwork waits at the office.

Escondido runs its own economy. Growers and packing operations in Hidden Valley and the ground around it, field service companies whose trucks cover half of North County, auto dealerships along the freeway, family healthcare practices serving people who have been here three generations, and a downtown with its own set of shops and restaurants. Most of that work happens away from a desk.

The gap between the truck and the office is where the hours go. A tech finishes a job, writes it on a paper ticket, and the ticket reaches the office two days later. Dispatch gets rebuilt every morning on a whiteboard. A customer calls to ask where the crew is, and somebody has to call the crew to find out. By Friday, one person is turning a week of tickets into invoices.

The audit follows one job from the phone call that started it to the day the money lands. We count the handoffs, mark the ones where information gets rewritten by hand, and price what closing each gap would cost. Then we rank them, because a company with twelve trucks cannot fix everything at once and should not try.

02 / What you get

One document, and a decision you can make.

  • A walkthrough of how your business actually runs today, written down where anyone can read it.
  • Three to five places AI or software would pay for itself, ranked, each with the hours or dollars attached.
  • What each fix would cost to build, so you can stop at the document if the numbers do not work.
  • The places we tell you not to bother. Some work is cheaper left alone.
  • A 90-day order of operations, first thing first.
  • A live walkthrough of the findings, with your questions answered in plain English.
03 / What this looks like

Three shapes this takes in Escondido. These are composites, not named clients.

A field service company with a dozen trucks. Techs write jobs on paper, the office types them into the billing system, and invoices go out four days later than they could. The audit measures that delay in dollars, then prices a mobile job ticket the crews would use without being nagged about it.

A grower or packing operation. Harvest volume, labor hours and buyer orders live in three spreadsheets, and one person reconciles them during the season, which is the time of year when nobody has an hour to spare. We look at what a single shared record would cost to build and whether the season justifies it.

A dealership service department. The same questions arrive by phone all day, advisors answer them between customers, and half the calls are asking whether a car is ready. We count the calls, price an answer source that covers the routine ones, and mark the conversations that should stay with a person.

04 / Honest scope

What we will and will not take on.

We take on established businesses with real operations, roughly five to fifty people, where the owner is close enough to the work to answer questions about it. We need access to the dispatcher, the service writer and the office manager, whoever moves the paper.

An outfit of one or two people is too small for this to pay off. The repeated work is not there yet, and the honest advice at that size is ChatGPT Plus, a scheduler and a good template. We would rather send you away with that than take the fee.

The audit is $1,500 and fixed, with no obligation to build anything afterward. Escondido is inside an hour of the studio in San Diego, so we drive up, ride along if that is what it takes, and deliver the walkthrough in your office. Larger builds run $6,000 to $15,000 when a fix earns it.

This page was drafted from a structured outline and hand-reviewed before launch. The work itself is custom, owner-operated, never templated.
