01 / Why this, here

Thirty years of process, almost none of it written down.

The first question a Fullerton owner asks is whether a San Diego studio is a real option. It works out to about a two hour drive, we make it most weeks, and roughly a third of the businesses we audit in a year are north of the Orange County line. The interviews happen in your shop, with the people doing the work.

What we find here is different from what we find in a newer city. Fullerton is full of companies that have been in the same building since the seventies: machine shops, distributors, printers, restaurants and retailers downtown that staff up with students from the two colleges every fall, and family businesses now on their second or third owner. The knowledge that runs those companies lives in people rather than documents.

That knowledge is expensive in ways that never show up on a line item. One estimator prices every job from memory. A new hire learns by shadowing for four months. Customer history sits in paper folders, an old email account and one long-tenured employee's head. The audit writes the process down, then says which parts a system could carry and which parts should stay exactly where they are.

02 / What you get

One document, and a decision you can make.

  • A walkthrough of how your business actually runs today, written down where anyone can read it.
  • Three to five places AI or software would pay for itself, ranked, each with the hours or dollars attached.
  • What each fix would cost to build, so you can stop at the document if the numbers do not work.
  • The places we tell you not to bother. Some work is cheaper left alone.
  • A 90-day order of operations, first thing first.
  • A live walkthrough of the findings, with your questions answered in plain English.
03 / What this looks like

Three shapes this takes in Fullerton. These are composites, not named clients.

A machine shop that has been here since the seventies. One estimator prices every job from memory and a stack of old quotes in a filing cabinet. The audit follows three real estimates, writes down the rules that estimator uses without thinking about them, and prices a tool that would hold those rules for the next person.

A downtown restaurant group. Half the staff turns over with the school year, so training runs on shadowing and a binder nobody has updated since 2019. We weigh what a searchable set of answers would cost against the hours managers spend answering the same fifteen questions every fall.

A second generation distributor. Customer history is spread across paper folders, email threads and one employee who has been there since 1994. Before recommending any software, the audit says which of those three is the real risk and what it would take to get the useful parts into one place.

04 / Honest scope

What we will and will not take on.

We take on established companies with real operations and staff, usually somewhere between five and fifty people. Businesses with twenty or thirty years behind them are often the best fit, because there is a long record of how the work goes even when none of it was ever typed up.

A one or two person business does not need us yet, and we say so on the first call. ChatGPT Plus, a scheduler and one good template will do more for that owner over the next year than a $1,500 document would.

The price is fixed at $1,500, travel from San Diego is included, and nobody is obligated to build a thing when the document lands. If the honest answer is that your process holds up fine and your money belongs somewhere else, that is what the document will say.

This page was drafted from a structured outline and hand-reviewed before launch. The work itself is custom, owner-operated, never templated.
